St. Joseph's School, Jiaganj, situated at Jiaganj under Murshidabad-Jiaganj Block, and Lalbagh Sub-division in the backward district of Murshidabad was founded in April 2005, is an English Medium School founded and administered by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Krishnagar. It’s a Christian minority institution belonging to the Catholic Church. Provision is also made for the admission of students of all faith.
It is recognized by the Education Department of the Government of West Bengal (Reg. No. 8- SC/AIS/ NOC) and affiliated to Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi.
This endeavor of the Society is aimed primarily to uplift the tribals and the minorities, who are poor and marginalized, by providing them with quality and relevant education, who otherwise can never think of educating their children in English Medium Schools. The Society decided to start an English medium school in this backward region, with an aim to provide quality education to enable the tribals and the poor people to regain their dignity and self worth. The school was started with the belief of the Society that social transformation is possible only by providing relevant and quality education.
Aim of the Institution:
The aim of the institution is to impart value based education in the children so that in future they can contribute to the betterment of our Country India, to Foster pluralism, respect and appreciation of differences. To build persons of character, integrity, make contribution to build a better nation. We aim to inculcate the values of compassion, discipline, and respect for all religion and culture. We aim to empower specially the poor and marginalized by providing them with relevant and quality education to uplift them in the society.
