The spirit and aim of St. Joseph's School, Jiaganjhas been encapsulated in its emblem which has three distinct elements :

The cross in the centre :The cross signifies the underlying Christian inspiration centered on the philosophyand teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our objective is that our students become men and women of competence, compassion, conscience and commitment.

The lamp : It symbolizes virtue in a student's life that should radiate like the rays of light that emanates from its flame. Jesus is the light of the world. Each student has been called to be a light to the world to dispel the darkness of superstition.

Leaf or olive branch : It epitomizes excellence. It's a symbol of peace and excellence. Students are called to excellence, in education and morality.

Our motto : "For God and Country" It articulates some guidelines to nurture a cultureof faith in our stduents.To provide education that energizes the young to make up the task of contributing to nation building so as to evolve a new inclusive nation. To form students who are sensitive to the pluralistic natureof our culture, and so cross the many narrow borders and walls that we have created.
